Job summary

YoungEducation is seeking passionate Youth Mentors to support young people, including collecting from home and transporting to educational settings. You will work 1:1 and in small groups across education, mentoring and enrichment to boost confidence and wellbeing.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years with young people, strong safeguarding knowledge, and a calm, empathetic communication style. A full UK driving licence and vehicle access are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with young people.
• Ability to build strong, professional relationships with young people.
• Good safeguarding knowledge and responsibilities in 1:1 work including transport.
• Calm, resilient and empathetic approach with strong communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport young people to and from provision and support transitions into learning.
• Build consistent, trusting relationships and support engagement in education and mentoring.
• Deliver interest-led activities that promote wellbeing, confidence and life skills.
• Manage behaviour calmly using a trauma-informed approach while maintaining safeguarding standards.
