Job summary

North Somerset Council is seeking a dedicated Preventative Caseworker/Young Persons Mental Health Worker on a maternity cover to join the Youth Justice and Prevention Service in Weston-super-Mare. You will support emotional wellbeing, assess needs, plan interventions, and work with schools, children’s services, health, and police.

Role is hybrid with some home working; travel across the North Somerset area is required.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering 1:1 and group interventions for children and young people.
• Ability to assess needs and plan appropriate interventions.
• Proven ability to work with schools, children’s services, health, and police.

Responsibilities

• Independently case manage and deliver 1:1 and group interventions to children and families.
• Carry out assessments using Prevention and Diversion tools.
• Record case notes and outcomes in case management systems.
• Collaborate with partners to engage children and families and promote pro-social behaviour.
