Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a specialist educational setting in Ystradgynlais, supporting primary and secondary pupils with SEBD. You will help pupils overcome barriers, build confidence, and reach their potential within a nurturing environment.

Role involves in-class and 1:1 support, behavior and trauma-informed approaches, and collaboration with teachers and therapists.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable groups is desirable.
• Interest in behaviour support and trauma-informed practice.
• Ability to stay calm and positive in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning activities within the classroom.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and trauma-related needs.
• Encourage communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Assist with creative, practical, and outdoor learning activities.
• Help implement individual learning and behaviour support plans.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
• Promote safeguarding and maintain a safe learning environment.
