Job summary

Chase House School in Brownhills, Walsall is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a small team in a trauma-informed setting. You will work with qualified staff to plan activities, supervise students in class and community, and help them access the national curriculum with literacy and numeracy development.

The role is full-time, fixed-term and will be reviewed annually. We offer a supportive environment and opportunities for training and career progression.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom and in community settings.
• Assist the teacher to plan learning activities.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with staff and young people.
• Encourage and motivate students to learn and develop.
• Support students in small groups and 1:1 settings.
• Help students participate in learning activities and develop literacy/numeracy skills.
• Produce legible, accurate and prompt written reports/records.
• Help students access the national curriculum with literacy and numeracy development.
