Job summary

Gloucester City Homes Limited is seeking a Specialist Support Worker for Hewmar House to support young people with complex needs in supported accommodation. You will deliver person-centred support, coordinate shifts and guide colleagues to help residents move towards independent living.

The role emphasises trauma-informed approaches, safeguarding, and collaborative work with partners. The position involves a 3-week rota, varied shifts, and on-call duties with an extra £30 per call.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
• Level 4 Certificate in Working with Children, Individuals and Families or equivalent.
• Counselling qualification or related qualification.
• Alternatively, substantial professional experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering person-centred support plans focused on independence.
• Supporting housing, wellbeing, life skills and tenancy sustainment.
• Coordinate shift activities and guide colleagues in trauma-informed care.
• Maintain records, case notes and outcome monitoring information.
• Work with partners and statutory services to safeguard and help young people.
