Job summary

New Bridge Multi Academy Trust’s Spring Brook Lower School in Oldham seeks an experienced Intervention and Pastoral Support Assistant to work with SEMH pupils. You will deliver bespoke interventions focused on reading and phonics, support self-regulation, and collaborate with staff to implement trauma-informed strategies.

The role is 29 hours 20 minutes per week across 4 days, term time plus five days, with a pro rata salary of £20,215–£21,928 and an SEN allowance.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and complex SEMH needs.
• Experience delivering reading/phonic interventions to individuals or small groups.
• A nurturing, empathetic and holistic approach to behaviour management.
• Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships with pupils and families.
• Willingness to work across sites within the MAT.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bespoke interventions focusing on reading and phonics for SEMH pupils.
• Support pupils in crisis using emotional or educational strategies.
• Work with staff to implement trauma-informed approaches and interventions.
• Supervise pupils during lunch and break times as directed.
• Collaborate with partners to deliver pupil-focused strategies.
