Hertfordshire County Council is seeking Residential Childcare Workers to support young people in care within our residential homes. You will serve as mentor, tutor, and guide, building trust while monitoring behaviour and safety in daily activities.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, routine-setting, and collaboration with families, schools and social services to enable personal development and healthy independence for each young person.

Qualificações

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Passion for working with children.
• Ability to learn and implement training.
• Flexible and innovative to meet the challenge.
• Willing to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleeping duties.

Responsabilidades

• Mentor, teacher, coach, and role model to young people.
• Act as family liaison and counsellor supporting families and schools.
• Maintain routine, boundaries and consistency in a calm, non-judgmental manner.
• Collaborate with social workers, police and external services as required.
• Complete relevant paperwork and work within relevant legislation.
• Work on a shift/rota basis and adapt shifts with the team.
