Job summary

Essex County Council in Colchester is seeking a Residential Worker Night Support to join a multi-disciplinary team. You will work 9:15pm–7:15am, 37 hours per week, with every other weekend off, delivering nurturing, trauma-informed care to 11-17-year-olds at New Farm Road.

The role requires prior children’s residential experience and a commitment to completing a Level 3 Diploma within two years, supported by in-house induction and regular supervision.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working in a children’s residential home is essential.
• Willingness to complete Level 3 Diploma within 2 years of probation with in-house training and induction.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing therapeutic care to children who have experienced trauma.
• Support and care for children as a parent would, within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Assist children to develop skills and resilience to return to families or longer-term care.
