Job summary

NHS Jobs in Bedford is seeking an Assistant Mental Health Practitioner to support our Child Sexual Exploitation service across the Bedford region. You will help deliver clinical support to young people who have experienced exploitation and trauma, under regular supervision from qualified professionals.

You will coordinate information, write assessment reports, deliver psycho-educational interventions, and help train residential and educational teams while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children/young people.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good understanding of psychometrics and data gathering.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and attachment-based approaches (e.g., PACE).
• Compassionate approach to young people with creative engagement.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Full driving licence and own vehicle to travel to multiple sites.
• Understanding of CSE and willingness to learn.
• Keen to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating information and writing assessment reports under supervision, including psychometric data analysis.
• Developing and delivering psycho-educational interventions to young people.
• Developing and delivering training to teams (residential and educational staff).
• Contributing to and supporting clinical teams with consultations/meetings by gathering information, taking notes and other administrative tasks.
• Other tasks as required for development and delivery of the service (e.g. literature reviews).
