Job summary

Look Ahead Care, Support and Housing Ltd seeks a compassionate Support Worker for our Learning Disabilities Service in Gravesend. The role focuses on supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities to lead active, everyday lives in a person-centred, respectful manner.

Full training provided; driving is required. You will work as part of a supportive team offering safeguarding, induction and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience with Autism/Challenging Behaviour and learning disabilities preferred.
• Willingness to drive as part of support duties and a PBS approach is expected.

Responsibilities

• Support customers with a full timetable of activities including sport and leisure.
• Develop independent living skills such as cooking, shopping, cleaning and decorating.
• Help customers socialise, meet new people and maintain important relationships.
• Assist in communicating needs, using person-centred approaches.
• Support management of anxieties using Positive Behaviour Support techniques.
