Job summary

IDAS is seeking a Domestic Abuse Practitioner - Housing in Scarborough to provide trauma-informed support to victims, collaborate with housing teams, and guide clients on housing, benefits and protections. You will manage a small caseload, engage with partners, and contribute to MARAC/MATAC/MAPPA processes to ensure safe outcomes.

The role offers opportunities for development, a competitive salary (£29,542), and a fixed-term contract until March 2028 based in Scarborough.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide trauma-informed support to abuse victims.
• Knowledge of housing options and benefits advice.
• Experience in advocacy and safeguarding vulnerable groups.
• Ability to coordinate with partners and agencies to support clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed support and safety planning to victims and survivors.
• Work with housing teams to secure safe accommodation and advocate for clients.
• Advise on housing, benefits, and legal protections; referrals to specialist services.
• Manage a small caseload; ensure smooth transitions to longer-term support.
• Liaise with multi-agency partners; contribute to MARAC, MATAC and MAPPA processes.
• Make referrals for target hardening and safe home retention where appropriate.
• Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery.
