Job summary

IDAS, based in Scarborough, is seeking a dedicated role to support victims of domestic abuse. You will provide trauma-informed assistance, safety planning, and housing referrals for those in emergency accommodation, while coordinating with housing partners and safeguarding services to promote equitable support.

The position is full-time, with a fixed-term contract through March 2028. You will manage a small caseload, work with multi-agency partners, and contribute to risk management processes,

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed support and safety planning to abuse victims.
  • Collaborate with housing teams and agencies to secure safe housing.
  • Advise on housing, benefits, and legal protections; referrals to services.
  • Manage a small caseload and ensure smooth transitions to longer-term community support.
  • Liaise with multi-agency partners and contribute to MARAC, MATAC, and MAPPA processes to manage risk.
  • Make referrals for target hardening and help clients remain safely in their homes where appropriate.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring services are accessible and responsive to all communities.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Provide trauma-informed support and safety planning to victims and survivors of domestic abuse, particularly those in emergency or temporary accommodation.
  • Work in partnership with housing teams and other agencies to secure safe housing and advocate for clients’ rights and wellbeing.
  • Support individuals fleeing abuse with advice on housing, benefits, and legal protections, including referrals to specialist services.
  • Manage a small caseload and ensure smooth transitions to longer-term community support.
  • Liaise with multi-agency partners and contribute to MARAC, MATAC, and MAPPA processes to manage and elevate risk appropriately.
  • Make referrals for target hardening and help clients remain safely in their homes where appropriate.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring services are accessible and responsive to the needs of all communities, including those who are underrepresented or marginalised.
