Job summary

Brava Education is seeking a permanent Headteacher for a small independent special school in Derbyshire, East Midlands. This hands-on role is trauma-informed and therapeutic, with the Headteacher expected to shape the school's ethos, drive improvement and lead safeguarding, SEMH provision and residential links.

You will have NPQH or equivalent, QTS, leadership experience in a special or complex setting, and a strong knowledge of the Independent School Standards.

Qualifications

• QTS with NPQH or equivalent.
• Leadership experience in a special or complex setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Independent School Standards.
• Experience of SEMH and residential settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set the ethos and strategic vision of the school and lead its improvement.
• Lead the curriculum, teaching quality and learner outcomes.
• Oversee safeguarding, pastoral care and SEND provision.
• Ensure compliance with the Independent School Standards.
• Collaborate with clinicians, families and local authorities.
