Job summary

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a General Practitioner to provide high-quality, trauma-informed medical services for detainees at Yarl's Wood IRC. You will assess, manage and refer complex health needs within an interdependent health team and ensure culturally responsive care.

The role requires GMC registration, NHS Performers' List and experience with vulnerable groups and field-based governance. Collaboration with secure settings and CPD participation are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be on the GMC General Practitioner Register and on an NHS Performers' List.
• Experience with vulnerable populations and substance misuse is required.
• Experience in multi-professional teamwork and governance/quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, evidence-based assessment and management for detainees at the IRC.
• Undertake face-to-face and remote consultations where appropriate; decide on urgent transfer or emergency care.
• Contribute to health assessments and follow-up for identified risks in the secure setting.
