Job summary

Staying Put in Wakefield seeks a Domestic Abuse Specialist to join a multi-agency initiative delivering vital support to survivors. You will work with police officers and staff to improve victim safeguarding and ensure risk is correctly identified.

This desk-based role requires trauma-informed, evidence-based professional advice. The role is 35 hours per week on a 12-month fixed term basis, with hybrid working where possible and a competitive package including 30 days leave, EAP, and pension

Qualifications

• Recognised domestic abuse qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience of multi-agency working including MARAC processes and police or criminal justice agencies.
• In-depth understanding of violence against women and girls with safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support call handlers, officers and control room staff to ensure risk is correctly identified and victims safeguarded.
• Upskill police staff and promote trauma-informed, victim-centered approaches within the contact centre environment.
• Analyse complex and sensitive information and provide clear, evidence-based professional advice.
