Unified Academy in Dorking invites applications for a Deputy Principal to join our Senior Leadership Team. Working with the Principal, you will shape strategic direction and champion high-quality teaching where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed.

You will balance therapeutic support with an ambitious curriculum. We seek a trauma-informed leader with experience in special education, safeguarding, and staff coaching to drive lasting improvement and provide an inspiring role model

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Experience teaching pupils with special needs, including autism.
• Experience with challenging behaviour.
• Proven ability to build and lead a staff team.
• Generate enthusiasm for new ideas and inspire autonomy.

Responsabilités

• Shape a trauma-informed school culture that reduces barriers to learning and prioritizes emotional regulation.
• Lead an innovative, flexible curriculum that blends academic progress with vital life skills and vocational opportunities.
• Oversee robust, non-punitive behaviour support frameworks, working closely with therapists and external agencies.
• Coach, mentor, and build resilience among a dedicated team of teachers, teaching assistants, and pastoral staff.
• Act as a key leader in safeguarding, ensuring strict compliance and exceptional care for vulnerable learners.
