Job summary

Stockport Council invites applications for a Deputy Children’s Home Manager at Bredbury Green Children’s Home in Romiley. The post is SO1 (£37,563 - £42,123 inclusive of two increments for evening and weekend working), 37 hours per week, full-time and permanent.

You will work closely with the Registered Manager to lead operational delivery, safeguard children, oversee care planning and recording, and drive continuous improvement within the Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted framework.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to build safe, respectful relationships with children, families and professionals.
• Experience in leading, supervising, coaching and developing staff.
• Competence in assessment, risk management, care planning and recording.
• Hold Level 3 Diploma or equivalent; IT skills expected and willingness to pursue Level 5.
• Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted framework.

Responsibilities

• Act as operational leader, deputising for the Registered Manager when needed.
• Oversee safeguarding, care planning, risk management and quality assurance.
• Lead staffing, recording and staff development to deliver consistent, trauma-informed care.
• Promote a culture of high support, reflection and continuous improvement.
