Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust seeks a trauma-informed leader to co-develop and implement a Trust-wide model. You will work with multidisciplinary colleagues to review strategies, drive service improvements, and lead consultation and training in trauma-informed care.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, adherence to Mental Health Act/Capacity Act, and collaboration on transformation programmes to deliver high-quality care close to home.

• Ensure regular, high-quality supervision and performance reviews for all staff.

Job description

To co-lead, with the Trauma-Informed Lived Experience Lead, on developing and implementing a trauma-informed model across the Trust. To work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues to develop and continuously review the strategy for the delivery of trauma-informed approaches. To lead on trauma-informed related service improvements, change programmes and business developments as required. To plan and deliver expert consultation and training.

• Be responsible for providing leadership, strategic oversight and continual development around trauma-informed approaches across the Trust.
• To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care. To maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Trust Policies and Procedures. To act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005). To be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation.
• Work in collaboration with senior colleagues on transformation programs and improvement initiatives that support the strategic ambitions of the Trust.
• Ensuring that a lived experience perspective is incorporated into all aspects of service development and delivery.
• Ensure that the needs of people coming under the care of services, their carers and staff are communicated to commissioners and providers
• Lead on appropriate staff recruitment within the trauma-informed service and contribute to wider strategic plans regarding trauma-informed recruitment
• Ensure that all staff within the trauma-informed service receive regular, high-quality supervision and individual performance review/appraisals
• Demonstrate trauma-informed expertise and skills to support service transformation, improvement programmes and business developments
