Job summary

Paragon Social Care is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help vulnerable children. You will provide compassionate, trauma-informed care, build strong relationships, promote daily routines, and support education and life skills.

The role may involve flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and requires a valid UK driving licence and vehicle access. DBS check will be required to ensure safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, paid or voluntary.
• Full UK driver’s licence and own car.
• Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience.
• Flexible approach including waking nights, weekends, and sleep-ins.
• Clear enhanced DBS or willingness to complete one.
• Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to keep young people safe and supported.
• Build positive relationships and promote healthy routines.
• Prepare meals, support education, and encourage life skills.
• Advocate for the voices of young people and ensure they are heard.
• Support medical appointments and community activities.
• Use your own vehicle to transport young people when needed.
• Help them move forward with confidence into their next chapter.
