Job summary

Hampshire County Council, based in Andover, seeks an experienced Registered Manager for a trauma-informed residential children’s home serving 10–17 year-olds. You will lead a dedicated team, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with families and external agencies to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.

The role requires a Level 5 Diploma (or willingness to pursue) and involvement in a 24/7 on-call rota with enhanced allowances.

Qualifications

• Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare and meet Ofsted registration requirements.
• Extensive management experience in residential care for vulnerable children with proven improvements in service delivery.
• Deep understanding of trauma-informed care and ability to build positive, compassionate relationships with children.
• Significant safeguarding experience in supporting children who have experienced trauma or abuse.
• Inspiring leadership with ability to manage performance, build resilience and foster collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the home to meet its Statement of Purpose and drive continuous improvement.
• Drive quality and compliance, ensuring regulatory and health & safety requirements are met as Responsible Person.
• Champion child-centred practice and advocate for children's needs in care plans.
• Collaborate with families, professionals and agencies to support positive outcomes for children.
• Develop and support staff through recruitment, training, supervision and performance management.
• Manage resources including budgets, staffing and equipment for efficient operation.
