Job summary

Brook Street in Hackney, London, seeks an experienced Registered Manager to lead the launch and operation of a trauma-informed children’s residential home. You will recruit and develop the team, secure OFSTED registration, and deliver a safe, therapeutic environment.

The role is full-time (37 hours) with a salary of £55,000 per annum plus £700 on-call (1 in 4 weeks) and enhanced DBS. You’ll ensure safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and excellent outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience within children's residential care.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
• Experience supporting children at risk of exploitation, abuse, and complex trauma.
• Proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding OFSTED outcomes in leadership positions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding, children's legislation, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the setup, development, and successful opening of the home.
• Recruit, manage, and inspire a high-performing residential care team.
• Ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations and Children's Homes Standards.
• Deliver exceptional, trauma-informed care and support.
• Promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Build strong relationships with local authorities, professionals, families, and external agencies.
• Foster a culture of psychological safety, empathy, and professional excellence.
• Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
