Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Behaviour & Intervention Mentor for a specialist SEMH school serving Romford and Basildon. The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support to develop emotional resilience, improve behaviour, and re-engage learners with their education.

You will work in a trauma-informed environment, managing challenging situations with calm, patience, and professional boundaries, while travelling between sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH/SEND, youth work, mentoring or coaching.
• Ability to support students with trauma backgrounds and emotional regulation.
• Strong communication and boundary-setting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring to develop emotional resilience.
• Support behaviour improvement and re-engagement with learning.
• Build trusting relationships with vulnerable pupils and manage challenging situations.
