Transportation Specialist, SWA- Ops Integration

This role is based in SWA.

Purview of a Transportation Specialist

In this role, the candidate will work with the business and operations teams to solve customer escalations, analyze historical results, and initiate programs — all in an environment of rapid growth and increasing complexity. The candidate will drive improvements to visibility tools, methods, and processes used by the team to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data for internal and external partners. The successful candidate must demonstrate significant ownership of customer issues and proactively initiate SOPs and process changes as needed. They should be passionate about their work, detail-oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Strong communication and customer-relationship skills, good analytical insight, and a customer advocacy mindset are essential. The candidate will aim for simple, scalable solutions to complex problems and have excellent project management skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Communicating with internal customers (LM, MM, EF, FC, S&OP, Trans Program, etc.).
  2. Creating and presenting complex information clearly and concisely, demonstrating exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Managing multiple, competing priorities with high attention to detail and minimal supervision.
  4. Applying strong analytical, mediation, and problem resolution skills.
  5. Supporting a culture of ownership and learning through demonstrated leadership and a bias towards action.
  6. Collaborating effectively with remote and local management teams through clear formal and informal communication.
  7. Understanding process improvement techniques.
Key job responsibilities:
  1. Performing deep data analysis and producing insights.
  2. Coordinating with stakeholders to resolve concerns by establishing SOPs and automation.
  3. Investigating operation and shipper escalations.
  4. Leading defect reduction programs by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  5. Developing reports.
  6. Executing pilots to improve the customer experience.
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics.
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Experience with SQL.
