Job summary

TJ Morris Limited trading as Home Bargains is seeking a Transport Team Manager at Amesbury to lead a team of drivers, ensuring CPC and H&S training, safety standards, and compliance. You will coordinate with VMU and Safety teams to resolve issues and optimise daily transport operations.

The role focuses on developing team performance, maintaining licensing compliance, and delivering the transport schedule efficiently in a fast-moving distribution network.

Qualifications

• Lead and coach a team of drivers to meet KPI's and standards.
• Ensure CPC and H&S training up to date.
• Hold regular 1-2-1s with drivers on performance and safety.
• Collaborate to manage vehicle issues and risk assessments.
• Communicate key operational info to drivers at each shift.
• Ensure stock delivered to stores safely and on time.
• Investigate infringements, near misses and accidents.
• Keep up to date with current legislation and CPC/H&S training.
• Monitor and allocate driver resources for daily transport schedule.
• Experience in managing a team of drivers.
• Experience in transport operation or fast-moving distribution.
• Experience in unionised environment.
• Experience using telematics such as Mircolise.
• Experience using workshop management systems such as R2C.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of drivers ensuring CPC and H&S training is completed and up to date.
• Ensure your team maintains the driving standards required for our earned recognition and our operator licence.
• Hold regular 1-2-1s with your team about their performance, compliance and safe and well checks.
• Collaborate with VMU and Safety and Compliance teams to manage vehicle issues and risk assessments.
• Brief drivers at the start of each shift on key operational and performance information.
• Ensure stock is delivered to stores safely and on time.
• Investigate and report any transport infringements, non-compliances, near misses and accidents.
• Keep up to date with current legislation and CPC/H&S training.
• Monitor, reprioritise and allocate driver resources to deliver the daily transport schedule.
• Experience of managing a team of Drivers.
• Experience within a transport operation or fast-moving distribution environment.
• Experience of working within a unionised environment.
• Experience using telematics such as Mircolise or similar.
• Experience using workshop management systems such as R2C or similar.
