Job summary

Bidfood UK in Burnham is recruiting a Transport Team Manager to lead the operations and people driving a culture of safety and service. You will guide the team, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimise performance in a high-paced transport environment.

You will mentor drivers, handle recruitment, monitor hours and safety, and drive KPI achievement while maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers. A strategic, people-first leader is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a strong people manager with proven leadership experience.
• Ability to drive and motivate a team to achieve goals.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building at all levels.
• Knowledgeable about transport regulations and compliance.
• Motivated to meet and exceed KPIs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coach the transport team to reach their full potential.
• Communicate openly and deliver key messages at the right time.
• Manage recruitment, absence, performance, safety and service.
• Oversee management of commercial vehicles, cages and pallets.
• Conduct vehicle checks, CV servicing, MOTs, VORs and temperature checks.
• Allocate work considering capability and legal driving hours to meet targets.
• Carry out quality investigations.
• Promote and manage safety across all activities.
