Job summary

SUPERDRUG in the UK seeks a Transport Team Leader to own daily transport operations, coach a team, and ensure safe, efficient delivery performance. You’ll monitor weekly KPIs, cost, and compliance while collaborating with planning, DC teams and drivers to optimise in-store availability.

You will drive continuous improvement, provide timely updates to the Transport Manager, and foster a culture aligned with the company values. HOURS: 40, 5x8 shifts on a 5-out-of-7 rota.

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical and IT skills.
• Strong people management skills.
• Good understanding of cost reports, operational efficiencies and cost management.
• Sound knowledge of Transport management systems.
• Excellent planning and project management skills.
• Proven Management experience within a distribution environment or similar.
• Collaborate with fellow Team Leaders and colleagues to support business performance.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility of the daily transport operation and manage ad-hoc requests.
• Motivate, coach and develop a team of colleagues to work knowledgeably, efficiently and safely.
• Take ownership of people management issues for permanent staff in area of responsibility.
• Monitor weekly site performance for Compliance (H&S), Delivery Performance, People, Cost, KPI, and Shrinkage.
• Review and develop processes with driver management, planning, and DC teams.
• Provide store operations with a reliable service, optimising in-store availability via transport.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders to support overall shift performance and handover.
• Provide timely updates to Transport Manager and address areas of concern.
• Contribute to a site culture aligned with company values.
• Deliver objectives set by the Transport Manager through your PDR.

• To take full responsibility of the daily transport operation and manage any ad-hoc requests to meet business requirements.
• To motivate, coach and develop a team of colleagues in order that they are able to carry out their duties in a knowledgeable, efficient and safe manner.
• To take ownership and monitor all people management issues for permanent staff within their area of responsibility, liaising with their HR to ensure a fair and consistent approach in accordance with company policies.
• Take responsibility for the weekly performance of the site with regards to Compliance (H&S), Delivery Performance, People, Cost, KPI Performance and Shinkage
• To continuously review and develop specified processes within their area of responsibility, working closely with the driver management team, planning team & DC operational teams linking into the transport dept.
• To provide store operations with a comprehensive and reliable service, optimising instore availability via the transport function
• To collaborate fully with other Team Leaders & their teams in order to support the overall performance of a shift.
• To provide an effective and seamless shift handover to the oncoming team.
• To provide the Transport Manager with timely updates on progress within their area of responsibility and raise and resolve areas of concern.
• Positively contribute to ensuring a site culture which demonstrates the Company values.
• Deliver objectives and targets set by the Transport Manager through your PDR. Understand company values and demonstrate improvementin key areas.
