The purpose of Transport Supervisor Nights is to support the Transport and Compliance Managers on the Night Shift and assist in the transport operational running of the site. You will support the Transport Manager on shift and will be responsible for working with our driver teams to ensure timely dispatch, conducting effective driver briefs and debriefs, and supporting safety and legal compliance management.

The Transport Supervisor role is night-based, with shift start and finish times that may vary; core hours are from 22:00 to 8:00, depending on volumes.

• Ensure that every worker is fully compliant with legislative requirements.
• Brief and debrief drivers to ensure all instructions for their allocated runs are understood and actioned.
• Review driver daily check sheets with the drivers, ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy, and any defects raised during vehicle checks are addressed, with all accidents/damage reported daily.
• Ensure all new drivers (FTE, agency) are licensed checked, assessed, and inducted before their first shift.
• Download information from digital tachographs at the start and end of each shift.
• Manage and monitor vehicle maintenance and service schedules, as well as VOR, to ensure vehicles are fit for the road.
• Undertake H&S tasks such as yard walks and vehicle checks.

Essential skills and experience required:

• Experience in collating reports on driver information, including Digi tachographs and Health & Safety for site and drivers.
• Experience in route optimisation and problem solving as a Transport Shift Supervisor.
• Some experience with TMS systems such as Isotrak, Tachomaster, Ortec, or equivalent.
• Fully PC literate, proficient in Windows and MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
