Job summary

Culina is recruiting for a Transport Team Leader at our Rugby site in the UK. You will oversee the Transport Operations Team and driver team, planning resources and ensuring clear instructions for vehicles and drivers to optimise utilisation.

The role involves night shifts (Sun-Thu, 16:00-06:00) and ensuring despatch accuracy, adherence to hours and WTD regulations, and effective liaison with third-party hauliers and on-site operations.

Qualifications

• Transport experience in FMCG environment.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Able to work as part of a team or individually.
• Knowledge & experience of tachograph / driving rules and regulations.
• CPC National desirable but not essential.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages.
• Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Allocate drivers and vehicles to loads efficiently, considering holidays and sickness, drivers hours and WTD.
• Plan driver start times to meet site despatch KPI.
• Communicate with third party hauliers to ensure collection times are met.
• Coordinate shunting operations for pre-loading and unloading.
• Maintain clear communication with drivers, including start times and load information.
• Ensure orders are despatched and delivered per customer specs.
• Inform collection/delivery points of delays.
• Maintain service levels with other departments.
• Allocate equipment for maintenance/service as instructed.

Our Rugby site have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Team Leader to join our team on a full time permanent basis.

As a Transport Team Leader you will be responsible forthe supervision of the Transport Operations Team and the driver team, including the daily planning of company and third-party resources, ensuring that all vehicles and drivers get clear precise instructions and are fully utilised.

Shift: Sunday - Thursday nights,16:00pm-06:00am

Key Duties of Transport Team Leader:

• To allocate both drivers and vehicles to loads in the most efficient way, taking into account holidays and sickness, drivers hours and WTD regulations.
• Planning driver start times to meet the sites despatch KPI.
• Proactively communicate with third party hauliers to ensure collection times are adhered to from site.
• Liaising with the shunting operation covering pre loading and unloading operation.
• Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions.
• Ensure orders are despatched and delivered in the right condition in line with customer specifications.
• Communicate with the collection or delivery points to adviseof any delays.
• Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
• Allocate equipment to meet maintenance / service intervals as instructed by the maintenance planner.
• Adhere to the business Health & Safety policy, ensuring that all accidents are reported.
