Job description

Overview

An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our team at our site in Valero terminal in Manchester. Reporting to the Location Operations Manager, you will be responsible for a team of fuels drivers.

If you have experience in the transport industry and are ready to take the next step in your career as a Transport Supervisor, we'd love to hear from you.

Shifts are Monday to Friday with rotating hours:

• Week 1: 05:30 to 13:00
• Week 2: 11:00 to 19:00

Salary up to £32,000.

How will you contribute?

• Assist in the daily running of the Transport operation by completing administrative and legislative tasks to maintain performance.
• Liaise with other departments to communicate delays in departures or deliveries.
• Ensure operational security requirements are adhered to, including vehicle keys, phones, and fuel cards.
• Collate and input statistical information for reports.
• Engage with customers to provide updates, resolve queries, or provide pre-delivery information.
• Manage tachograph records.
• Promote good driver behaviors using tools like Mix telematics.
• Assist with investigations and manage vehicle defects through the VOR process.
• Participate in recruitment, training, and coaching of colleagues.
• Manage sickness absence processes, including record keeping and RTW interviews.

What will you bring?

• Experience in a transport environment is desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications; knowledge of Distribution/Transport Systems is advantageous.
