As we grew, we also developed a successful drainage capability and large tanker fleet, taking our offering from simply pumping solutions, to providing a complete ‘water in, waste out’ service.

What does it entail?

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Transport Supervisor to join our operations team at our Aylesford depot. Reporting directly to the Transport Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day coordination and supervision of our transport activities, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient deployment of our fleet and drivers.

This is a hands-on role that requires excellent organisational skills, a solid understanding of UK transport legislation, and the ability to lead and motivate drivers within a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities are:

• Operational Oversight: Support the daily running of transport operations, including vehicle scheduling, route planning, and fleet coordination.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all relevant transport legislation (e.g. Operator Licensing, Tachograph laws, Working Time Directive, DVSA regulations), as well as company safety standards.
• People Management: Oversee and support the performance and wellbeing of a team of drivers; manage workloads, driver hours, and training needs.
• Administration & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of transport activity, inspections, and maintenance. Assist with compiling operational reports and audits.
• Customer Service & Communication: Liaise with internal teams and external customers to ensure service levels are met and communication is clear and professional.
  
  

What experience do we look for?

• Proven experience in a transport or logistics supervisory role
• Solid understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance standards
• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification - preferred
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Competent in IT systems related to scheduling, compliance, and reporting
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
• Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team in a fast-moving environment
