Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Transport Supervisor to join us on a full-time, permanent basis working Monday to Friday on our afternoon shift; 13:00 - 22:00 at our Hounslow site, for our shared user network.

Through the shared service we deliver specialised freight and palletised goods. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills as a hands-on transport operations supervisor within a dynamic and collaborative team.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £31,500 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance.)

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Co-ordinate the transport operations on site to meet both network and customer expectations.
• Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner.
• Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / subcontractors minimising the cost impact to the business.
• Ensuring the operation is fully resourced by using sub-contractors when needed. Coordinating and recording holidays and absences.
• Ensure the overall smooth delivery of the operation daily and utilise the team around you.
• Manage challenges and provide solutions to ensure successful operation.
• Analysing data & resources at beginning of their shift (from the morning handover – asking the right questions to ensure your shift can be successful.)
• Be involved in HR and health & safety cases – recruitment, investigations, disciplinaries, absences & return to works.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Essential: Good understanding & experience of working within a fast-paced transport operation. (Ideally in a palletised environment.)
• Essential: Experience in both transport operations and transport planning.
• Essential: Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Essential: Experience leading people & drivers.
• Essential: High attention to detail, organised and ability to multi task & prioritise.
• Essential: The ability to pick up new systems and use excel efficiently.
