Transport Shift Manager based Stoke on Trent

Grade: M

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Salary: £38,223

Shift patterns: 4-week rota including weekend working (see below)

Location: Stoke on Trent ST4 2TP

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to coordinate our daily logistics requirements. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a strong understanding of transport procedures in a busy environment.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

• Supporting the Transport Manager to ensure a fully compliant operation, providing operational expertise, and maintaining efficient transport operations within budget while delivering excellent service to meet contract objectives and customer demands.
• Achieving targets such as on-time deliveries, maintaining team morale, and meeting personal development goals, while ensuring compliance.
• Managing a team of 3 First Line Managers, overseeing work activities, and providing leadership, motivation, training, and development.
• Ensuring the shift operation delivers efficient, customer-focused service.
• Analyzing reports against KPI targets and recommending actions for improvement.
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, sharing ideas, and best practices.

Shift pattern:

Week 1: REST, 10:00 - 22:00, 10:00 - 22:00, REST, REST, 10:00 - 22:00, 12:00 - 20:00

Week 2: 08:00 - 20:00, REST, REST, 10:00 - 22:00, 10:00 - 22:00, REST, REST

Week 3: REST, 06:00 - 18:00, 06:00 - 18:00, REST, REST, 06:00 - 18:00, 06:00 - 14:00

Week 4: 06:00 - 18:00, REST, REST, 06:00 - 18:00, 06:00 - 18:00, REST, REST

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Computer literacy with knowledge of logistics software such as Tachomaster and Microlise
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and train team members
• Flexibility to work a 4-week shift pattern
• Ensuring operational activities meet customer specifications
• A relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics is advantageous
• Living locally to Stoke on Trent ST4 2TP
