Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking a Transport Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operation of our in-house transport service. You will supervise drivers and operational colleagues, respond to issues, keep services running to schedule and maintain safety and customer service standards.

You'll work under the Transport Team Leader, plan, allocate and coordinate transport activities, and support staff with induction, training and day-to-day performance.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising operational transport staff in a practical, hands-on role.
• Strong focus on safety, safeguarding and customer service.
• Good written and verbal communication with internal/external partners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, allocate and coordinate transport activities to meet service requirements.
• Supervise and monitor the operations team to ensure safe, efficient services.
• Respond to issues, breakdowns and incidents and adapt to changes in demand.
• Carry out driving duties as required, including school run periods.
