Job summary

Pertemps Heathrow in Slough is seeking an experienced Transport Planner / Scheduler to join their team. This role focuses on planning and optimising daily vehicle routes, managing driver schedules, and ensuring compliance in a fast-paced transport environment.

Working closely with drivers, customers, and the operations team, you will drive safe, cost-efficient transport with high service levels and continuous improvement in KPIs.

Qualifications

• Experience as Transport Planner, Transport Coordinator or Fleet Scheduler.
• Strong route planning and optimisation skills.
• Experience managing drivers and vehicle schedules.
• Knowledge of Operator Licence regulations and transport compliance.
• UK geography knowledge and Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimise daily vehicle routes to maximise efficiency.
• Manage and review van and LGV schedules.
• Ensure effective utilisation of vehicles and 3PL.
• Monitor and deliver transport KPI targets.
• Improve on-time delivery performance.
• Schedule vehicle maintenance and monitor fleet compliance.
• Conduct daily driver briefings and debriefings.
• Resolve operational issues raised by customers and drivers.
• Ensure 100% POD/POC compliance and regulatory adherence.
