Key responsibilities include planning routes, minimizing empty miles, briefing drivers, and maintaining compliance with driver hours and safety regulations. Strong coordination with drivers, customers, and warehouse is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a transport planner in a busy UK logistics environment.
• Excellent knowledge of East Anglia and wider UK road network.
• Familiarity with transport management systems and vehicle tracking software.
• Strong awareness of driver hours rules and compliance standards.
• Outstanding communication skills to manage driver queries and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise daily delivery routes for our fleet to ensure efficient use of resources
• Minimise empty running and control fuel costs through smart scheduling
• Liaise directly with drivers, briefing them on schedules and monitoring progress throughout the day
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and potential delays
• Ensure full compliance with driver hours, working time directives, and road safety regulations
• Adjust schedules dynamically to handle traffic issues, break downs, or changing client demands
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth loading and timely departures
