Are you an experienced Transport Planner with a background in heavy haulage? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to support the planning and execution of complex transport operations, ensuring compliance with STGO regulations and delivering exceptional service to customers.

Are you an experienced Transport Planner with a background in heavy haulage? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to support the planning and execution of complex transport operations, ensuring compliance with STGO regulations and delivering exceptional service to customers.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in planning and scheduling a cost-effective heavy haulage transport fleet.
Prepare and submit STGO Category 3 route notifications, liaising with local authorities and structural owners to ensure safe and efficient routes.
Coordinate with police forces to arrange cost-effective abnormal load escorts.
Work closely with customers and internal teams to optimise fleet utilisation and reschedule work as needed.
Brief and support heavy haulage and escort drivers, ensuring clear communication of job requirements.
Oversee vehicle maintenance scheduling in coordination with workshops.
Provide out-of-hours support on a rota basis for live projects.
Maintain transport management system records and ensure compliance with health & safety standards.
Proven experience in planning and scheduling a multi-vehicle fleet.
Strong knowledge of abnormal load route notifications and STGO regulations.
IT proficiency and experience with transport planning software.
Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach.
OLAT Training or Transport Manager CPC.
Familiarity with technical drawings.
GCSEs or equivalent in Maths & English.
