About the role: 12 month Fixed Term

In the role of a Transport Planner, experience in planning is essential for the successful development of a cost-effective plan that addresses Ocado's transport requirements while optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs). The position involves coordinating transport needs, ensuring optimal staffing levels, and collaborating with key stakeholders to align the plan with organizational requirements, ensuring feasibility and compliance with drivers' hours rules, regulations, and working time directives. Proficiency in scheduling drivers and trailers using various spreadsheets to create daily/weekly transport plans is essential, demanding strong problem-solving skills and quick thinking. Effective communication and customer service skills are paramount, given constant interaction with diverse stakeholders throughout the day. Additionally, the role encompasses a significant amount of administration, emphasizing the importance of meticulous attention to detail.

You will be:

As part of your role, you will be responsible for creating daily and weekly transport plans, addressing and resolving LGV driver inquiries, and developing weekly rotas while providing the agency with both predicted and live requirements. Actively engaging in achieving Planning Department KPIs, you will ensure the timely and accurate completion of daily tasks. Managing the time and attendance of Ocado LGV employees will be within your purview, and you'll collaborate closely with Supply Chain and Operational teams to plan inbound deliveries effectively. Additionally, you will take ownership of ad hoc tasks and operational issues, manage LGV drivers' holiday availability, optimize the dispatch profile for trailers leaving the CFCs, and ensure compliance with Competition Compliance Guidelines and GDPR policies. Reporting on daily and weekly transport KPIs will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities.

As a self-motivated team member, you embrace a flexible approach to working hours, recognising the importance of supporting a 24/7 business operation by working five shifts per week, scheduled from Monday to Sunday (with a rota provided).
