Job summary

AMP Clean Energy is hiring a Transport Planner and Customer Service Advisor in Telford for a fixed-term of up to 15 months. You will plan and coordinate deliveries, manage driver hours, support customer inquiries and pricing, and maintain accurate CRM data while working with Fleet Supervisors and Drivers.

The role is 40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, with a competitive salary and perks. Applicants should have experience in fast-paced operations, strong communication, and knowledge of UK road

Qualifications

  • Experience in planning and coordinating vehicle movements in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience handling customer enquiries, orders, and pricing queries with CRM.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of HGV regulations and UK road networks.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate all deliveries in line with customer orders with clear communication.
  • Monitor driver hours and ensure legal compliance.
  • Plan store clean and product extractions.
  • Coordinate vehicles for maintenance with Fleet Manager.
  • Assist Customer Service with inbound calls, orders, pricing inquiries, complaints.
  • Update CRM with accurate customer and operational data.
  • Provide admin support to Customer Service, Logistics, and Finance teams.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Planner and Customer Service Advisor to join our Customer Service team on a fixed term contract for up to 15 months.

The role will involve
  • Planning and coordinating all deliveries in line with customer orders, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Monitoring and managing driver hours, working closely with Driver Supervisors to ensure all drivers remain legally compliant with relevant Working Time Directive regulations.
  • Planning and coordinating all store clean and product extractions, ensuring they are completed efficiently and in line with customer requirements and expectations.
  • Working collaboratively with the Fleet Manager to coordinate vehicles for both planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs, ensuring Driver Supervisors are kept fully informed of the vehicle plan.
  • Supporting the Customer Service team with inbound calls, sales order processing, pricing enquiries, customer complaints, and general enquiries, ensuring all interactions are handled professionally, politely, and courteously.
  • Accessing, maintaining, and updating the CRM system as required, ensuring customer and operational information is accurate and up to date.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Customer Service, Logistics, and Finance teams as and when required.
What we are looking for

An individual experienced in working in a customer-facing administrative environment and to support in a fast moving and demanding operational environment. Our successful candidate will also demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Experience of planning and coordinating vehicle movements, deliveries, or logistics activities in a fast-paced environment, balancing customer requirements, operational priorities, and available resources.
  • Experience in handling customer enquiries, orders, complaints, and pricing queries while maintaining accurate records and using CRM or other business systems.
  • A positive can-do attitude, with the ability to remain motivated, flexible, and proactive in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with experience in the effective planning and routing of HGV vehicles.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional manner when dealing with customers and key stakeholders, both by telephone and email.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of relevant HGV regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Good knowledge of UK postcodes, geographical areas, and road networks, with the ability to use this knowledge effectively when planning and routing HGV vehicles.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with driver supervisors and drivers, gaining their support and cooperation while maintaining effective day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused when handling challenging or frustrated customers and colleagues, ensuring conversations are managed positively and effectively.
