Job summary

Maritime Transport seeks a skilled Transport Planner for our Stoke depot. You will manage driver rosters, coordinate port bookings, and monitor ETAs to ensure timely deliveries across our container transport network.

The role requires strong communication, excellent UK geography knowledge, and the ability to work independently within a busy depot environment. Flexible shifts and proactive problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Transport Planner is essential.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to work a 4 on 4 off shift.
• Excellent UK geographical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with multiple drivers.
• Communicate with ports and book delivery slots.
• Use TOPS transport system to schedule drivers.
• Chase ETAs and reroute as needed to keep on time.
• Ensure PODs match with all jobs on the system.
• Inform customers about delays and provide ETAs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Dealing with multiple drivers
• Communicating with ports
• Booking delivery slots for entry in ports
• Using a Transport system called TOPS for putting down drivers start times and finish times
• Chasing drivers for etas and making sure they are on time
• Rerouting jobs as and when is neededChecking all PODS are matched up with all the correct jobs on the system
• Speaking to customers on possible delays advising eta

• Previous experience as a Transport Planner – Essential
• Confident and clear communicator – written and verbal
• Must be happy to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
• Excellent UK geographical knowledge
• Can work on own initiative
• Quick and efficient problem solving skills
• Organised at all times
• Flexibility to meet the demands of the business
