Nicholas Associates are working with an established Steel Manufacturing company based in Sheffield, who are looking to add an experienced Transport Planner to their team on a permanent basis. The role will be responsible for optimising the movement of metal products within and outside the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Management of order books - reviewing impacts on schedules and changes
• Ensuring efficient and effective customer communication
• Dealing with customer approvals, outages, quality issues - risk identification and mitigation
• Being the main point of contact for customers - customer relationship management
• Key interface between customer, supply chain, and operations
• Dealing with the management of on-time delivery and arrears
• Having an understanding of steel manufacturing processes
• Dealing with quality/technical approvals
• Stock control
• Other duties to support the business

Key Requirements:

• Preferably degree qualified or equivalent relevant experience
• Ideally previous experience in a customer-facing role
• Planning/Scheduling/S&OP experience
• Previous experience with MRP/ERP systems
• Previous experience with a strong customer and operational focus
• Proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment - ideally engineering.
