Job summary

Backline Logistics is recruiting a Transport Planner to join a well-established fuel distribution business based in Okehampton. You will coordinate daily fleet operations, manage stock control, and support depot efficiency, working with drivers, customers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver excellent service.

This temp-to-perm role runs Monday to Friday 08:00–17:30, offering an opportunity to demonstrate proactive planning and continuous improvement within a friendly, employee-owned

Qualifications

• Previous experience within transport planning or logistics operations.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily deliveries for a fleet of up to 10 drivers.
• Manage stock control and accurately record all stock movements in and out of the depot.
• Complete transport administration including tachograph reports, incident reports, driver defect sheets, and order confirmations.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, drivers, and the sales team to coordinate delivery requirements.
• Arrange vehicle servicing, inspections, repairs, and conduct daily driver debriefs.
