Job summary

SIG Insulation & Dry Lining is seeking a delivery driver to efficiently and safely deliver products to customer sites across our UK network. You will unload materials, complete paperwork with accuracy, and perform daily safety checks while maintaining excellent customer service.

You will cover for the transport manager when required, coordinate with external transport providers, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, supporting the busy logistics team in a friendly,

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• Basic numeracy and IT skills.
• Knowledge of basic health and safety requirements (preferable).

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customer sites/premises.
• Unload products and ensure paperwork is completed correctly.
• Perform daily safety checks; maintain vehicle and documents.
• Coordinate with external transport company and supervise loading/unloading.
• Cover for the transport manager when they are away and make decisions in their absence.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and customers are satisfied with delivery schedules.

What does the role involve?

To deliver products to our customers in an efficient, safe and timely managed schedule; to be the friendly and helpful face of our company once at customer’s site. To cover for the transport manager when they are away from the business.

What you will be doing:

• Deliver products to customer sites/premises
• Unload products and ensure paperwork is completed correctly and accurately by both yourself and customer
• Perform daily safety checks
• Keep transport documents and paperwork updated
• Maintain good care of your vehicle, by following companies regulations
• Carry out other duties within yard/warehouse as and when needed
• Work in a manner which ensures the safety of self and colleagues
• Cover for the transport manager when they are away from the business
• Make decisions in the transport managers absence
• Coordinate with external transport company’s
• Supervise the loading and unloading of vehicles
• Ensure all other drivers are following health and safety procedures and processes
• Any other reasonable duties within the individuals capabilities
• Driving record, both vehicle and forklift where required
• Responsible for deliveries adhering to health and safety regulations
• Ensuring customers are satisfied with delivery schedule
• Loading errors and breakages

What you’ll bring:

• Driving Licence with less than 6 points*
• Basic numeracy and IT skills
• Knowledge of basic health and safety requirements (preferable)
