DFDS in the United Kingdom is seeking a Transport Planner to help plan and coordinate daily transport operations, using Velocity TMS to optimise routes and resources.
Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will work with drivers, warehouse teams and export operations to meet delivery requirements, ensure compliance and deliver high standards.
The role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with development opportunities within a diverse, supportive team.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, working 4 on 4 off, you’ll play a key role in the planning and coordination of daily transport operations, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently, compliantly, and to a high standard. Using our Velocity TMS system, you’ll work closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and UK/export teams to optimise routes and resources.
You’ll have experience in transport planning within a fast‑moving logistics environment, with a good understanding of driver hours, compliance, and operational planning. Experience managing both fleet and subcontractors, along with freight forwarding exposure, would be highly beneficial. A CPC (National/International) qualification is desirable.
You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office systems and able to adapt quickly to transport management systems such as Velocity. Strong organisational skills, initiative, and a proactive mindset are essential, as you’ll be working in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
