Job summary

Certas Energy is seeking a Transport Planner/Router to design and optimise daily vehicle routes across a regional network, working closely with depot teams, drivers and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective deliveries.

You will monitor fleet utilisation, maintain data accuracy in systems, and support service excellence while meeting regulatory requirements and KPIs. This role offers exposure to a nationwide logistics operation within the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or routing operations.
• Knowledge of EU Drivers' Hours regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.
• Experience working with routing and fleet management systems.
• Strong IT skills and confidence using operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimise daily delivery routes for rigid and articulated vehicles.
• Collaborate with depot teams to maximise delivery efficiency and minimise transport costs.
• Manage delivery volumes while meeting operational and customer requirements.
• Reconcile daily deliveries against plan and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate driver, vehicle and routing data in company systems.
• Monitor driver availability, vehicle utilisation and operational performance.
• Liaise with depots, drivers and customers to resolve delivery issues and support service excellence.
• Support transport KPI achievement through route planning and coordination.
• Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards are met.
• Complete administration accurately within timescales.
• Provide regional operational support when required.

How you'll power our business as a Transport Planner / Router

We have an exciting opportunity for a Router to join our Operations team. In this role, you'll be responsible for planning and optimising vehicle routes across a regional network, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and cost-effectively. Working closely with depot teams, drivers and operational stakeholders, you'll play a key role in maximising fleet utilisation, maintaining service standards and supporting business performance.

What you'll be doing

• Planning and optimising daily delivery routes for both rigid and articulated vehicles.
• Working closely with depot operations teams to maximise delivery efficiency and minimise transport costs.
• Managing delivery volumes while ensuring compliance with operational and customer requirements.
• Reconciling daily deliveries against plan and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Maintaining accurate driver, vehicle and routing data within company systems.

• Providing regional operational support and cover when required.

• Experience working with routing and fleet management systems.
