We are the beating heart of our UK business and comprise a network of cutting-edge warehouses and offices across the country that ensure that we optimise the experience and use our proprietary technology across the supply chain to deliver an exceptional shopping experience. At the same time delivering bags of possibilities for our employees and a career that will ensure no two days are ever the same.

About the role

We wouldn’t be able to positively impact the way the world shops without our passionate team members – who keep our business running, our vans delivering, our customers’ products picked and packed and our proprietary technology operating at optimum levels.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner (12-month fixed term contract) to join our team. The role exists to deliver cost-effective daily and weekly transport plans that meet operational requirements, comply with driver regulations, and support the wider supply chain. You’ll work closely with multiple stakeholders across the planning and logistics network while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced, data-led environment.

Based in Hatfield 2 days a week with hybrid working options available, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to grow their career in transport and logistics planning.

You will be – Skills and responsibilities:

  • Using your problem-solving and Excel skills to create effective and compliant transport plans
  • Monitoring and reporting on transport KPIs, driver compliance, and scheduling performance
  • Supporting daily operational planning and future forecasting of headcount and resources
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders including Supply Chain, Operational Teams, LGV Training and Planning Analytics
  • Managing LGV driver schedules, rotas, holidays, and time/attendance records with accuracy and attention to detail
  • About you – Requirements to be considered:
  • Strong numeracy, analytical, and organisational skills with good attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and confident handling data-driven tasks
  • A clear communicator, able to work under pressure and engage effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • A proactive team player who can adapt to changing priorities and work independently when required
  • No previous planning experience needed – full on-the-job training provided, making this ideal for a school leaver or recent graduate

What you can expect to receive in return:

At Ocado we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported, so you’ll find a safe and collaborative atmosphere that is as fresh as our produce, as well as an award-winning recognition programme and benefits package that includes a healthy work-life balance, extensive healthcare coverage, competitive salaries, and exclusive employee discounts.

Including:

  • Flexible Work: Enjoy hybrid working with 2–3 days per week remote and 30 days of 'work from anywhere' policy
  • Wellbeing Support: Access wellbeing apps and an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Generous Leave: 30 days annual leave, increasing to 32 with 5 years’ service
