We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join Nationwide Platforms, the UK market leader in powered access. In this role as Transport Planner, you will be based at our Customer Service Centre depot in Glasgow and responsible for accurately planning the delivery and collection of equipment for depots within the region. This role is vital to our business operations, requiring proven experience in transport planning, excellent organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills.

This role is a 6-12 months fixed-term contract position.

Responsibilities include:

1. Plan the delivery of new hire orders to meet customer delivery times and ensure off-hired equipment is collated within prescribed timescales.
2. Plan deliveries and collections to optimize transport fleet costs.
3. Coordinate driver activities to meet productivity targets within the targeted hours.
4. Work with the Regional Transport Manager to ensure vehicle maintenance and inspections are completed as per schedules.
5. Ensure compliance with all relevant Road Transport legislation, including the correct use of tachographs and internal reporting systems.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous logistics/transport planning experience in a busy environment.
• Good understanding of routing.
• Ability to learn systems quickly.
• Self-motivated and highly organized.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with transport planning software and systems.
