Job Description:

Wastewater Catchment Planner / Modeller / Engineer - Scotland Graduate Programme

RPS is growing and is looking to reinforce its Edinburgh and Glasgow offices with Graduate Wastewater Engineers, Modellers, and Planners.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in an environment that recognizes effort and talent. The start date is targeted for September 2024 or earlier if possible.

The roles in the strategy team combine office/home-based work with opportunities for site work for data collection.

Career pathways include Wastewater Engineering, Modelling, and Planning, mainly based in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Success in this role requires a friendly, open attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Data handling and analysis of large datasets
  • Survey planning and supervision
  • Use of GIS software such as MapInfo, QGIS, and ArcGIS
  • Statistical data analysis
  • Preparation of reports
  • Construction and analysis of hydraulic sewer network models using InfoWorks ICM
  • Catchment modelling, risk assessment, and intervention strategy development
  • Engagement with clients and stakeholders
  • Development and documentation of software tools
About You:
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or Environmental Science
  • Modules in wastewater, hydraulics, GIS, or flood risk are desirable
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Teamwork and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with Excel and computing skills
