Job summary

TLP in Bristol is seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to lead day-to-day transport operations in a fast-paced FMCG distribution environment. You will report to the Logistics Manager and supervise around 9 direct reports plus ~50 drivers, championing safety, compliance and service excellence.

The role offers a salary of £48,000–£56,000 with a bonus up to 40%, 37.5 hours across Tue–Sat, and a benefits package including pension and life assurance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Transport Operations Manager in large-scale, fast-paced transport or distribution.
• CPC Certification is required.
• Experience in high-volume, unionised environments.
• End-to-end accountability for performance, compliance and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site transport operations and ensure delivery of service.
• Drive safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and coach shift managers and supervisors.
• Manage P&L and budget, reporting to senior management.
• Oversee fleet safety, maintenance and legal compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering for fleet safety and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost control.
