Job summary

Culina Group Limited is seeking a Transport Operations Manager to lead our 24/7 transport operations within Contract Logistics. You will manage a team, optimise routes, and ensure costs stay within budget while maintaining service levels.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00, with potential flexibility as operations require. You will drive continuous improvement, discuss performance in regular reviews, and collaborate with customers and third-party partners.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience within a busy transport environment (FMCG preferred).
• Strong leadership and motivational qualities with experience building a team.
• Good commercial knowledge of transport operations, including shared user environments.
• Excellent negotiating skills to influence and steer.
• Strong planning and organising skills with a high level of numeracy.
• Effective communication with a proactive, positive approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage your team to ensure traffic plans enable delivery of products to customers within service levels.
• Reduce non-contract maintenance and damage spend via vehicle passports and spend confirmation.
• Ensure all available fleet is on the road and declared to enable planning.
• Motivate and develop the transport team while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Communicate with third party hauliers to control reported defects on drop trailers.
• Check and approve maintenance cost reports and invoices.
