Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in transport or logistics.
• International CPC holder.
• Strong customer-facing experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of transportation operations, safety regulations and compliance.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI skills; familiarity with TMS like Microlise and Tachomaster.
• Problem solving and resilience in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage distribution and national trunking operations, ensuring SLAs and targets are met.
• Drive growth, efficiencies, and continuous improvement with P&L and budget control.
• Build relationships with customers, BT Fleet, and third-party suppliers; ensure high-quality service.
• Analyze performance, develop improvements and business cases, report to senior stakeholders.

Are you an experienced transport and distribution leader with a passion for operational excellence, customer service, and continuous improvement? If you're ready to make a real impact and take ownership of a high-profile operation, we'd love to hear from you. Here at GXO we are looking for a Transport Operations Manager to work at our BT site in Haydock. Working in a fast-paced Transport department for our leading high street retailer customer, you will experience a blend of first line operational tasks and hands on project involvement. Ensuring compliance of companies O-Licence obligations are met and ensure all customer expectations are met both internally and externally. The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be working Monday - Friday, 08:30 16:30, although some flexibility will be required- this is logistics after all!,

• Lead and manage distribution and national trunking operations, ensuring customer SLAs, service levels, and operational targets are consistently achieved
• Drive business growth, operational efficiencies, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining full P&L responsibility and budget control
• Build strong relationships with customers, BT Fleet, and third-party suppliers, acting as a key operational stakeholder and ensuring high-quality service delivery
• Analyse operational performance, develop improvement plans and business cases, and provide clear, data-driven updates to senior stakeholders
• Develop high-performing, engaged teams while championing Health & Safety, compliance, operational excellence, and GXO's wider supply chain strategy initiatives Proven experience in a leadership role within the transportation or logistics industry
• International CPC holder
• Strong customer facing experience within a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of transportation operations, safety regulations, and legal compliance
• Good Microsoft Office knowledge, in particular Excel and Power BI, with a sound knowledge of transport management systems i.e., Microlise & Tachomaster
